Galmstrup Architects is seeking an associate architect for cultural heritage to join its team in London.
Galmstrup Architects is a design-led practice specialising in cultural buildings and heritage projects. We work with museums and galleries, visitor and community centres and the transformation of cultural heritage assets.
This is an opportunity for the right candidate to work across multiple smaller projects, overseeing and supporting our Project Architects ensuring quality, compliance, and delivery at the later stages of projects.
We are searching for an Associate Architect with strong technical skills and site experience. Successful candidates will have strong detailing and coordination skills, and excellent understanding of procurement and construction. They must demonstrate strong coordination, communication, and collaborative skills, as wells as knowledge of UK compliance and statutory processing.
The Associate Architect will be working closely with the founder to shape future of the practice – giving input and taking active part into the development of the practice. We are searching for someone who is self-motivated, structured and who wants to be part of growing our practice.
Essential skills:
- candidates must be RIBA Part III qualified 8+ years and ARB registered
- strong, coherent design and detailing skills aligned with Galmstrup’s ethos
- must have worked extensively across RIBA Stage 4 and Stage 5 in the UK
- technical standards, planning applications, and industry regulations knowledge
- excellent communication and coordination skills
- internal team management ability and collaborative attitude
- ability to multitask and work across several projects concurrently
- fluent spoken and written English
- eligible to work in the UK
