Eldridge London is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

Eldridge London is seeking a talented and motivated Part 2 architectural assistant to work on a range of exciting private houses.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate an outstanding design portfolio, with good knowledge of construction detailing and UK building regulations. Applicants must demonstrate creativity, precision and rigour in their approach with strong design and technical skills.

The role will involve coordination and engagement with clients and the wider design team on multiple projects so a high degree of organisation needs to be allied with a personable nature.

Projects are largely private residential schemes from £1m to £10m.

Responsibilities

Working on all stages of projects from conceptual design to developing technical drawing packages and assisting in construction stage queries and coordination.

Concept design in 2D, 3D, physical models and hand drawings:

  • producing drawings and imagery for planning applications
  • producing drawings and imagery to explain buildings and interiors to clients
  • producing coordination and technical drawings for tender packages and construction
  • liaising directly with other consultants, suppliers and contractors
  • researching products, materials and systems for integration into designs
  • presenting your work to senior staff
  • attending client and design team meetings, coordinating correspondence and responding to queries
  • assisting senior staff within the office and on site

Qualities:

  • creative – with a high quality portfolio of design at both conceptual and technical scales
  • inquisitive – a quick learner with an interest in the wider world of architecture
  • technical – with demonstrable experience and understanding of how buildings are put together
  • rigorous – both in terms of precision within one’s work and in terms of personal organisation
  • personable – able to communicate clearly to clients and contractors and represent the office if senior staff are not available
  • motivated – keen to learn, solve problems and work on multiple simultaneous projects

The ideal candidate will be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop / InDesign) and a CAD drawing package in both 2D and 3D – preferably Vectorworks and Rhino. Some knowledge of visualisation software also preferred.

Requirements:

  • Part 2 RIBA recognised degree or equivalent
  • previous work or experience in architectural practice

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
