Product production manager
at Toogood

Faye Toogood is looking for a product production manager with a minimum of five years experience to join its team in London.

Under the direction of designer Faye Toogood, the studio creates furniture and products that disregard convention in favour of something altogether more brave, joyous and impulsive. Within the studio, you will be able to draw on a wide range of talents and diverse backgrounds, including fine art, history of art, product design, architecture, and interior design.

Responsibilities include:

  • manage the day to day production of the Faye Toogood product department
  • lead and manage the research for new materials, processes and market trends and manufactures
  • monitor product standards, implement quality-control procedures and improvement of manufacturing processes
  • technical development of initial concept designs through to fabrication, design development suitable for volume production
  • produce specification packs for all product items
  • making samples or working models by hand or using computerised prototyping equipment
  • responsible for producing layout and production drawings using SolidWorks
  • responsible for monitoring production progress towards targets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and reporting performance accurately
  • continuous improvement of production processes
  • provide accurate costings and budgets from concept through to production
  • manage production costs and wholesale price lists
  • manage all company stock and archiving to make sure it is accurately accounted for in inventory records and insurance records are up to date
  • drive the expansion of the range of furniture through new materials and processes
  • nurture relationships with manufacturers and always be on the lookout for new suppliers
  • responsible for moving company inventory to and from required locations
  • work with sales manager and creative director to ensure all product information is up to date and available for distribution
  • responsible for managing CIN7 and all relevant data for the manufacturing and sales processes

Qualities & skills required:

  • legally able to work in the UK in which the position is based
  • min five+ years experience in the product production sector
  • proven track record of setting up systems and procedures
  • proven track record of managing FF& Procurement documentation
  • able to understand and formulate production decisions and present for discussion
  • able to take initiative in response to direction or instruction
  • excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills
  • able to attend, manage and coordinate meetings with suppliers
  • able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently
  • self-motivated and able to take responsibility
  • good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team
  • able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally
  • able to deal with the management of junior & intermediate designers on the team

Must be able to use Solidworks
