Residential interior/architectural designer

Hamilton King is looking for a residential interior/architectural designer to join its team in Chiswick, west London.
Hamilton King design and manage the implementation of high-quality residential projects.
The majority of our projects are high-quality family homes, many of which are listed and historic buildings.
We are involved throughout or projects from concept design right through completion. Including the design, planning, build and renovation of the building and the building joinery and specialist components.
Job overview
We are looking for a high-caliber, creative, confident mid to senior interior/architectural designer to join our team with experience of residential projects, with three+ years’ experience.
A successful candidate will understand the design process through programming, interior architecture, architectural specification, documentation, and furniture, fixture and equipment specifications. We are looking for someone who has prior experience working in an interior/architectural design studio and is familiar with high-end, bespoke furniture design processes. The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, with a robust can-do mentality and be able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- manage projects from schematic design through installation
- collaborate on developing the design concept for a project
- prepare client presentations with principal’s design sketches, self-generated presentation materials including 2D and 3D drawings and precedents
- design, source and present design ideas using tools including interior design finishes, fixtures, furniture, hardware, lighting, to bespoke items, in collaboration with the directors and other team members
- creation of proposals and coordinating purchases and delivery of all items
- coordinate with vendors, fabricators, electricians, general contractors throughout the entire project to ensure timely installation of the project
- maintain communication with the client
- manage internal and external deadlines
- define and solve complex problems, complete tasks accurately with strong attention to detail
- organise and oversee the installation of the projects
- you may also work with the directors to produce company marketing material
Qualifications and experience required:
- bachelor’s degree from an accredited architectural or interior design program and (a minimum) three+ years’ experience
- overall knowledge and understanding of the flow of a project from conception through completion
- proficient in Vector Works or AutoCAD, and Sketch-up or similar rendering software
- proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- interior architectural experience in all phases of the design process
- organised, self-starter who can work independently, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of working on multiple projects at various stages of development
