Senior landscape architect

Design International is hiring a senior landscape architect to join its firm in London.
Design International is an architectural practice based in London, with branch offices in Milan, Shanghai and Dubai. We operate on a global scale and provide our clients with innovative and ambitious design solutions, with a particular focus on retail, mixed-use and hospitality architecture.
We are looking for a conscientious, creative and quality driven senior landscape architect with proven experience leading a team on medium to large scale landscape projects. At Design International, you will work on a variety of contemporary projects across a number of sectors, delivering work to an exceptionally high standard and fulfilling the client brief and budget. You will have the opportunity to take the lead on various projects that the firm is delivering on, utilise your expertise in creating fantastic new designs and provide landscape oversight in the design of a variety of projects.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- project manage the landscape component of medium to large scale projects
- work as part of the design team to develop scheme designs for the landscape component of a project at the different stages of design: concept, schematic design, design development and tender preparation
- review the landscape team’s drawings to maintain a high and consistent quality of work
- prepare project design work including drawings, plans, images, reports and presentations for landscape
- collaborate with other team members to produce design work and revisions according to the client brief on time and on budget
- supervise the work of the landscape design firm in charge of the development of the design in order to safeguard the original meaning of the design
- act as a coordinator between DI design team and the landscape design firm in charge of the development of the design
- support the studio director during project presentations to the design review board
- if required meet the client to present the landscape design and to discuss landscape-based issues
- ensure that project documentation is archived correctly
Required skills and qualifications:
- fluent in written and spoken English, additional languages of advantage
- landscape institute member or equivalent with at least five years’ professional experience
- proficient in AutoCAD and excellent working knowledge of Adobe Suite and SketchUp. Rhino and Revit will be an advantage
- excellent design and technical skills
- excellent ability to develop, draw and communicate design ideas from early concepts through to technical stages
- ability to lead, direct and mentor junior members of staff
- ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- confident to communicate to all levels of the organisation and in a culturally diverse environment
- portfolio must include a wide selection of work, from concept design sketches through to technical details/built work
