Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher is looking for Part 1 and Part 2 architectural assistants to join its team in Leeds, UK.

Talented RIBA Part 1 and Part 2  architectural assistants required for our busy Leeds studio.   You will have an opportunity of working on some prestigious projects in Leeds and the north of England for an award-winning practice.   You must be UK educated and have a good understanding of UK practice. We offer a fantastic package but above all, we will fully support you in the development of your education in architecture.

General projects and team architectural support

Working under the management of a project architect/associate to support the delivery of a variety of projects at varying stages. Amongst the tasks identified by the team/practice activities may include the following:

Corporate:

  • personally delivering high quality and consistent standards of work with the objective of creating innovation and achieving award-winning success
  • to act as an ambassador for CJCT and positively represent the company
  • to attend and participate in events identified to benefit the profile and development of CJCT as required
  • to execute responsibilities of the architectural assistant role, undertaking potential additional roles/responsibility in accordance with CJCT procedures and professional guidelines

Drawings

Production of:

  • hand sketches
  • CAD drafting for all work stages

Documents

Assisting/production of:

  • NBS specifications
  • issuing information
  • writing minutes

Project administration:

  • assist/undertake administrative commitments (printing, filing, document control, JQP, collating reports and brochures)
  • ensure any work undertaken on projects is compliant with CJCT procedures (inc QA, EMS, CDM, H&S, environmental, financial and personnel procedures)
  • contribute to projects information output in accordance with the defined objectives and deliverables
  • execute project administration in accordance with projects, CJCT and legislative procedures

Participate in project reviews (design, administrative and delivery) occur at required stages as identified in CJCT procedures

Presentation:

  • attend/participate in internal projects presentation (these could include client/design team meetings, planning consultation, bid, competition presentations)
  • undertake the production of presentation material, formatting project brochures and project reports

Commitment:

  • to be flexible and committed to the needs of the practice, team and projects within the terms of employment. This could include providing support to other CJCT teams, attending related events etc

Team and practice:

  • to participate in a team focused culture
  • execute personal time management to meet project objective
  • complete and record personal development and CPD in accordance with CJCT and legislation requirements
  • to be visibly committed and loyal to CJCT team, practice and client
  • undertake team responsibilities allocated by team management group where identified in line with CJCT procedures
  • to contribute to the team’s objective to achieve high quality and consistent standards of design, project management and client care
