About our New York City location
Our office of over 100 architects and designers is a vibrant and collective workplace that emphasizes design and technical excellence. Our office is fun and fast-paced with weekly happy hours and a variety of employee-run groups that include both social activities and professional development. We believe in nurturing the “whole architect” and all designers are encouraged to experience the design process from conceptualization through construction.
We are located in the financial district in Manhattan near the 1, 2, 3, 4,5, N, R, W, J, Z lines, PATH and the Seastreak Ferry making for an easy commute from surrounding areas.
About the job
Handel Architects is seeking an architectural designer with eight+ years of exterior wall experience to continue the excellence the firm is known for in documents, detailing and design. You will have the opportunity to work on projects with a high level of design in collaboration with senior team members and the opportunity to mentor junior staff.
Qualifications:
- eight+ years of experience required
- communication with client and consultant team
- technical production of drawing sets
- technical detailing and construction administration
- software skills required: AutoCAD and Revit
- knowledge of construction methods
- great interpersonal communication skills
- professional degree in architecture
- ability to manage junior team members
- experience in mixed-use mid or high-rise development projects, developer experience a plus
- licensure and LEED accreditation a plus
- fluent in English, spoken and written
