Tom Dixon is looking for a head of visual merchandising to join its team in London.
As head of visual merchandising you will lead and develop the visual merchandising function and processes to ensure every touchpoint from store design and function through to focussed and proportionately represented categorisation in all layouts and activities are on brand, commercially viable, achievable in all markets and consumer appropriate. Working from our head office in London you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the highest standards across our hubs and concessions in the UK and internationally. This role will include extensive travel and will likely be split between EMEA, the Americas and Asia Pacific regions.

About the role
You will effectively interpret the vision from the creative director and chief product officer into outstanding layout and window schemes as well as activities to support the promotion of the brand and seasonal product categories.
More specifically you will be responsible for:
- generating sales – you’ll ensure that sales targets are achieved through the visual merchandising of product in the most commercial and customer-focused way. You’ll develop compelling, creative and appropriately focussed store layouts and window displays for both new stores and seasonal changeovers while ensuring that costs are minimised without compromising aesthetic standards
- coaching – you’ll train staff, both internal and external, on seasonal guidelines and visual standards, developing talent and understanding the relationship between visual merchandising and both commercial targets and brand aesthestics
- policies and procedures – you’ll agree and deliver the company’s visual merchandising guidelines across all global markets in line with product launches, business trading and customer/partner needs. You’ll ensure that we have consistent execution of company visual merchandise standards in all markets and within all partner environments
About you
More specifically you’ll have:
- minimum five years’ visual merchandising management experience with a thorough knowledge of current VM trends and methods
- demonstrable experience of taking a flagship concept and developing it into a variety of formats, sizes and with a flexible product range or moving category of products
- a strong creative eye along with great organisational and relationship building skills
- proven ability to take the lead on all merchandising presentations across retail and wholesale accounts, relationship management and training.
- knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, 3DS Max or Rhino is preferred, but not essential
- superb communication skills. You naturally ignite great rapport with people and adapt your style to all levels
- must be willing to travel in the UK and internationally
