Dallas-Pierce-Quintero is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant for a fixed-term six-month contract in London.

We are looking for an experienced and friendly Part 2 architectural assistant to join our small multidisciplinary team in Hackney for a fixed-term six-month contract. You should have a passion for detailing projects and a can-do attitude. You will be happy to work independently, as well as part of a team, so flexibility and self-management are important.

The studio has a range of projects that we require your help on, but primarily we are looking for someone who has the ability to translate design intent into tender packages for residential architectural projects. You will bring two+ years’ experience of developing detailed drawing packages, a working knowledge of English building regulations, experience of producing tender packages and an eye for design quality.

You will have excellent Vectorworks drafting skills, as well as good hand sketching ability for quickly conveying ideas. You may also be working across other projects where experience of graphic design is required, utilising Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Role:

  • developing initial building designs into detailed drawings using Vectorworks, working around constraining factors such budget, planning conditions, buildability
  • liaising with consultants and suppliers during the technical stages of projects and independently developing construction details from research and best practice
  • producing tender packages including specifications
  • creating presentation documents using Adobe InDesign (following templates)
  • producing illustrations by hand and/or digitally to communicate design thinking for presentations

Responsibilities:

  • self-management of time and workload/project deliverables
  • reporting into project director and flag any concerns/issues
  • ensuring studio protocols are followed
  • maintaining quality and client satisfaction
  • ensuring relevant standards and conditions are followed

Qualifications and experience required:

  • RIBA Part 2 qualification/equivalent qualification
  • two+ years’ experience producing tender packages
  • excellent Vectorworks ability (two+ years’ experience)
  • good knowledge of Apple Mac OSX
  • excellent knowledge of Adobe Indesign (2 years+ experience)
  • good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
