Kensington and Chelsea Quality Review Panel members
at Frame Projects
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) is inviting applications for membership of its Quality Review Panel in London.
The Quality Review Panel is being formed to support high standards of design in new development within the borough.
The panel will play an important role, furthering the council’s commitment to securing high quality design which complements and enhances equally the borough’s outstanding historic townscape, and our less historic areas where the aspiration is to provide the conservation areas of tomorrow.
Kensington and Chelsea is a unique central London borough accommodating diverse communities, places of great cultural significance, and attractive streets and squares. The borough accommodates 15,000 businesses; and although it has the smallest population of any London borough, with around 160,000 residents, it also has some of the highest population densities in the country. There is a pressing need for significantly more homes to be delivered in the borough, particularly affordable homes.
The panel will provide a rigorous review process, to ensure exemplary design in all areas of the borough, enhancing the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for all those who live, work, and visit.
The panel will have around 18 members with a wide range of skills and expertise, and applications are welcome from experts in the following areas:
- architecture – housing/cultural/commercial
- urban design/town planning
- landscape/public realm
- heritage/townscape
- sustainability
- inclusive design
- transport infrastructure/transport planning
Applications should be addressed to Frame Projects, which manages the Quality Review Panel to maintain the independence of its advice. Those who wish to apply should submit a CV, and a covering letter outlining the contribution that they could make to the panel.
The closing date for applications is Friday 14 February 2020 at 17.00.
Applicants should be able to commit to attending approximately four meetings a year. Appointment will initially be for the calendar year starting in April 2020. Remuneration will be set at £400/day.
