Topotek 1 is hiring a landscape architect to be project leader for its design and competition department in Berlin, Germany.
Topotek 1 is seeking a creatively dynamic, highly motivated and professionally experienced project leader in the field of landscape architecture to join our design and competition team. The ideal candidate is to be passionate about the art form of landscape architecture – representing a keen grasp and sensibility of form, colour, graphic representation and landscape conceptual development. As a leader overseeing a diverse team of designers on international high-profile competitions and collaborations, the role requires the ability to produce and efficiently manage the development of pragmatic yet insightful, enticing and vivid landscape proposals. Key personal attributes of ingenuity, enthusiasm and flexibility are essential to the fast-paced and energetic office atmosphere. The position is senior-level, full-time to which several years of professional experience, particularly in the realm of public space design are essential.
Your profile:
- five years of professional experience as a landscape architect
- exemplary design and artistic sensibility
- strong conceptual skills and ability to graphically express appealing and precise drawings, diagrams and site plans
- a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and thinking
- a high degree of self-motivation, flexibility and resourcefulness
- ability to take the initiative in response to constructive criticism and directions
- proven professional expertise in landscape architectural competitions, with an emphasis on urban public projects
- familiarity with current trends in the design of public spaces
- strong management and organisational skills, able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, meet deadlines and budgets
- fluent communication skills in English, spoken and written (bilingual/multilingual a plus)
- proficiency in Vectorworks, 3D modelling (SketchUp, Rhino), as well as Adobe CC and MS Office
- flexibility to travel
Your task and responsibilities:
- convincing and powerful concept and design development for challenging and high-profile German and international design competitions
- production of site plans, drawings, models, board layouts, booklets, text and research as related to each project
- management of competition and project design, objectives, requirements and budget considerations
- organisation, communication and oversight of in-office team workflow and production as related to each project
- communication lead and coordinator with outside collaborators, consultants and clients per project requirement
- representative at out of office meetings, workshops and presentations
Based in Berlin, Topotek 1 is multidisciplinary, design focused firm composed of a highly qualified international team of architects, landscape architects, and designers.
