Part 3 architect
at Red Deer
Red Deer is seeking a Part 3 architect to join its firm in London.
Red Deer is a design-led architecture practice with an emphasis on sustainability. Our work is mainly centred around hotels, bars and restaurants, but we also design residential properties and installations. We are looking for a dynamic Part 3 architect to lead and support in a range of projects, starting as soon as possible. More information about the role will be discussed during the interview process.
Requirements
Technical skills:
- two years’ post-Part 3 (or equivalent)
- membership to ARB/RIBA
- a solid understanding of relevant legislation, contracts and building regulations
- excellent design and presentation skills
- high-level experience of Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud
- delivered and led projects across all work Stages (RIBA 0-7)
- a proven ability in sound detailing, specification, material selection and a clear sense of value for money without sacrificing beautiful design
- a technical understanding of sustainability and its impact on design
- a strong interest in pursuing sustainability and respect for the environment in every project
- site experience and possession of contract admin knowledge
- proven creative problem-solving skills
Managerial skills:
- proven practical experience of managing direct reports and coordinating with external consultants
- proven client management and project management skills
- exceptional time-management, well organised and with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- good leadership skills and team-leading
- understanding of project resourcing and financials
- confidence to work under minimum supervision and the ability to drive projects forward
- eager, driven and self-motivated
- demonstrable ability to work alongside directors and other team member
- assertiveness with diplomacy and tact to ensure a collaborative and supportive approach is taken
- willing and able to find solutions
- the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- a willingness to be both high-level management and in the trenches when projects require it
Communication/interpersonal skills:
- a highly-effective communicator, with excellent written and spoken English, and with strong interpersonal skills to manage clients and team members
- collaborative, proactive and enthusiastic individuals with good attention to detail
- the ability to think ahead, anticipating problems and opportunities
