Ealing design review panel members
at Frame Projects

Frame Projects is seeking panel members for a new Ealing design review panel in London.

Ealing Council is inviting applications for membership of its design review panel, which is being formed to support high standards of design in new development within the borough.

Ealing, located where the Thames Valley meets metropolitan London, is the third-largest London borough in terms of its population and is one of the most ethnically diverse communities in the country. The borough has a strong and dynamic economy, with excellent transport links with London and the rest of the UK, including direct connections to Heathrow Airport, and will be home to five Crossrail stations. With a growing population and economy, there is a pressing need for significantly more homes to be delivered in the borough, particularly affordable homes.

The panel will play an important role, furthering the council’s commitment to securing high quality design which complements and enhances the borough’s outstanding historic townscape. The panel will provide a rigorous review process, to ensure exemplary design in all areas of the borough, enhancing Ealing for all those who live, work, and visit.

The panel will have around 20 members with a wide range of skills and expertise, and applications are welcome from experts in the following areas:

  • architecture – housing/cultural/commercial
  • urban design/town planning
  • landscape/public realm
  • heritage/townscape
  • sustainability and low carbon design
  •  inclusive design
  • transport infrastructure/transport planning

We encourage applications from women and people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, as these groups are currently under-represented throughout the building industry.

Applications should be addressed to Frame Projects, which manages the Design Review Panel to maintain the independence of its advice. Those who wish to apply should request a recruitment pack and application form by clicking the ‘apply’ button.

The closing date for applications is Monday 11 January 2020.

Applicants should be able to commit to attending approximately four meetings a year. Appointment will initially be for the calendar year starting in February 2021. Remuneration will be set at £450/day and £225/half day.
