Cowper Griffith Architects is seeking a project architect to join its team in Cambridge, UK.
Cowper Griffith Architects is an award-winning, design-led practice based just south of Cambridge. We have a growing and diverse workload, with a focus on bespoke, contemporary domestic projects and small to medium sized public buildings, many of which involve the sensitive restoration and extension of heritage assets, of all grades.
We are fortunate to work on behalf of a range of national and regional heritage and landscape custodians including English Heritage, The National Trust, Canal and River Trust and The Landmark Trust, and our current workload includes visitor centres, windmills, Cambridge colleges, Paragraph 79 and zero carbon projects, primarily in east Anglia and the south east but also spread across the UK and, on occasion, overseas.
We seek to make enduring, sustainable and beautiful buildings which respond fully to their context and to preserve, to adapt and to enhance heritage settings through considered intervention, working alongside leaders in allied disciplines.
The practice currently seeks to recruit an architect with up to three years’ post-qualification experience.
Candidates should have a breadth of experience across RIBA work stages, ideally combining site works with an interest in and aptitude for ‘front end’ bid, concept and planning work and clear, well coordinated Stage 4 packages.
Experience of Vectorworks is preferred, but not essential. A firm grasp of the Adobe Creative suite is important. Strong visual and verbal communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate will work independently or as part of a small team, with a number of live projects at any one time.
The practice is currently working in a Covid-secure manner. Under normal circumstances our purpose-built, bright office just south of Cambridge is a friendly and fertile environment, where ideas and experience are freely shared.
A competitive salary will be offered commensurate with experience.
