Jacobs is seeking an interior designer to join its team in London.

Working as part of a wider global network of design professionals, we seek an interior designer to join our UK team.

You will have proven experience of running projects from inception to completion through all RIBA stages. You will have a portfolio of high-quality contemporary interiors demonstrating commercial experience.

You will be able to showcase exceptional design, co-ordination and management skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • working to a written or verbal brief, outlining the deliverables on each phase and scope of works
  • working on projects efficiently, to deadlines and within budget in close co-operation with either an internal or external Multi D team
  • capable of design thinking, sample boards, preliminary and final designs, and development of details, furniture, fixtures, and lighting layouts
  • organisation of workflow with colleagues
  • assisting the Architectural teams for better operational flows
  • developing detailed designs and selection of materials and finishes with input from others
  • managing the selection budgeting, scheduling, FF&E products
  • able to work with furniture dealers
  • attend design reviews and peer crits
  • client presentations
  • produce technical drawings to construction stage
  • supporting and directing junior staff

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • evidenced track record of commercial experience in Interior Design with a good understanding of construction and manufacturing of projects including FF&E
  • ability to demonstrate design thinking and articulate a concept
  • able to select and schedule material finishes including FF&E
  • use of NBS Chorus
  • able to produce a programme
  • attention to detail across all aspects of design and organisation management
  • ability to advise clients and other parties on all design, construction, technical and regulation aspects of a design project
