Head of BIM

WilkinsonEyre is looking for a head of BIM to join its team in London.

WilkinsonEyre is recruiting a full-time, permanent head of BIM to drive the BIM strategy for the office and assist on several exciting projects.

We are especially keen to hear from those with proven experience in Revit and ideally Bentley OpenBuildings Designer (formerly AECOsim Building Designer) project set up along with a well-developed technical understanding of Revit/OpenBuildings Designer issues.

Responsibilities

BIM and digital production:

  • update Revit, AutoCAD and Rhino3D templates as required
  • organise and coordinate Revit, AutoCAD, OpenBuildings Designer and Rhino3D training
  • Revit, AutoCAD, OpenBuildings Designer and Rhino3D project support
  • set up all Revit, OpenBuildings Designer and AutoCAD projects
  • review and comment on BIM documentation
  • create workflow and publish in the WilkinsonEyre intranet
  • collaborate with Rhino3D and Parametric Design groups
  • review the WilkinsonEyre BIM strategy
  • update the WilkinsonEyre digital production standards manual as necessary
  • research for new technologies and workflows
  • check BIM model quality and compliance with WilkinsonEyre standards
  • work with the head of information systems on the development of the intranet as far as digital design solutions are concerned
  • build communities and networks of good practice that support effective digital design methods

BIM and IT – collaboration:

  • software licence management: work with WilkinsonEyre’s head of IT to manage CAD/BIM licences and plugins
  • software version updates: inform IT when the updates need to be deployed across the company
  • analyse software’s usage to support the renewal process
  • engage with software vendors for Revit plugins
  • testing hardware and software performance

BIM and bid department:

  • answer pre-qualification questionnaire to support bids
  • create the pre-BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for bids

BIM and legal/commercial:

  • consult the appointment
  • inform commercial director and the project team about discrepancies between the appointment and EIR or BEP
  • attend the Wren BIM Forum and the Digital Design Leaders forum
  • keep informed about industry standards changes
  • create the BEP after contract award

BIM and specification:

  • engage with WilkinsonEyre head of specification to ensure that specification workflow has been correctly applied to projects
  • ensure the NBS Chorus is correctly used in the Revit Projects

BIM and health and safety:

  • provide advice on the BIM standard (PAS 1192-6:2018) that guides how health and safety information is used on BIM models to mitigate risk, such as highlight potential hazards in the model

BIM and project resource:

  • provide and maintain the platform for resource analyses and staff skills
