twentytwentyone is seeking a logistics coordinator to join its team in London.

Logistics coordinator

The position is full-time Monday to Friday, based at our head office and showroom in EC1R with the flexibility to work at various locations should business needs arise, including our warehouse sites in north London.

twentytwentyone has established itself as one of London’s foremost retailers of classic and contemporary design, supplying furniture, lighting and accessories from world leading designers and manufacturers. We are currently recruiting for this newly created logistics role which is central to the planning and coordinating of our supplier collections and customer deliveries (courier and freight), acting as a hub between our purchasing, sales, warehouse and finance teams.

We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of global multi-modal transport routes, international trade, current customs procedures and preferably shipping of a wide variety of products.

The successful candidate will be a great communicator with excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to solve problems and think quickly. They will be an efficient and well organised multi-tasker, with a logical and methodical approach, a team player happy to roll up their sleeves, with a very high attention to detail and the ability to self-manage. The role:

  • report to the managing director
  • initial focus on developing and administering new internal procedures related to post-Brexit changes
  • collate import records for supplier shipments in accordance with HMRC submission requirements
  • coordinate all logistics movements inbound from suppliers and certain outbound deliveries to clients, and when necessary collections/returns
  • coordinate export freight shipments, manage provision of shipper and supplier documentation and declarations
  • handle quotes, bookings and tracking requests
  • build relationships with logistics partners and actively work on delivering the best quality service to our customers at the best rates for our business
  • support the senior management team in highlighting and implementing new and efficient processes to increase productivity and ensure KPIs are met
  • submit reports and recommendations for the senior management team
  • flexibility to attend business requirements outside of contracted working hours, should the need arise
  • any other tasks as deemed necessary by the directors

The ideal candidate will have:

  • previous experience in an export/shipping or transport environment
  • experience and knowledge of ERP systems, ideally Sage
  • high level of Excel and Microsoft 365
  • knowledge of post-Brexit import/export processes, documentation and dealing with freight forwarders and agents
  • good negotiation skills
  • excellent customer service skills
  • International Trade Operations and Procedures (ITOPS) qualified and/or have knowledge of import/export regulations, is desirable
  • experience of producing and dealing with international shipping documentation would be advantageous
  • ability to work within a fast-paced SME often with competing priorities and not afraid of change
