Grimshaw is seeking an intermediate architect or Part 2 to join its team in New York.
The role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and passionate intermediate architect/Part 2 to join our New York studio. Our ideal candidate is curious, thoughtful, and designs with enthusiasm. The candidate exhibits effective communication skills, professionalism, enjoys working collaboratively, and assumes accountability for deadlines and quality of work. The successful candidate will exhibit all-around architecture skills and design excellence.
What you will do:
- contribute to the delivery of projects at different phases under the guidance and mentoring of experienced architects
- have a project-focused view, sometimes across multiple projects, demonstrating design and technical aptitude
- work in close cooperation with other members of Grimshaw project teams and our consultants
- contribute to the work on design constraints, objectives, composition, materials and color, architectural volume, detail quality, and build quality resolution
Qualifications:
- bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited school required, master’s degree preferred
- four to six years’ professional experience in mid to large size architectural projects is a must
- exceptional Rhino, Revit, InDesign, and Illustrator skills required
- strong Grasshopper skills are a plus
- experience in the transportation and commercial sectors is highly desired
- excellent coordination and communication skills
- superb time management skills
- meticulous attention to detail
- ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
- a quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills
- ability to build strong relationships across the practice and work collaboratively with a team
