Junior CAD design assistant
at Sedilia
Sedilia is looking for a junior CAD design assistant to help manage a growing order book at its London studio.
We have been creating exacting upholstered furniture since 1998. We are the quiet force behind some of the interior sector’s most acclaimed designs, but also designers/makers of our own collection of stunning furniture.
Collaborating with architects and interior designers on a variety of luxury residential and commercial projects – from beautiful homes to super-yachts, our work is varied, often challenging, and hugely rewarding.
You will join a small, creative office team and will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact. The position is based at our expansive light-filled premises a stone’s throw from Clapham Common in south London.
The role involves working closely with the company directors in developing designs from initial concept images and sketches, to produce detailed technical 2D drawings of furniture pieces and components.
Skills required:
- interior design/furniture design degree or alternative level qualification or training
- proficiency in Adobe AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Sketchup beneficial, but not essential
- excellent attention to detail and passion for high-end furniture, particularly mid-century inspired design
- knowledge of furniture construction a bonus
- excellent multi-tasking and organisational skills
- enthusiastic, motivated with good communication skills
Freelance day rate £120 to £140 depending on experience (roughly equivalent to £15-17ph).
