Marketing manager

Burwell Architects is currently seeking a marketing manager to join its South East London studio.

Purpose of role:

  • to support and develop the practices marketing strategy with a view to creating and identifying new business opportunities
  • to help develop and implement our business development plan
  • to communicate with our industry, raise our profile and help to attract new talent
  • to work with the directors to identify and coordinate bids and competitions

Marketing and business development:

  • develop a proactive marketing strategy that complements the practice’s business plan
  • work closely with directors to ensure business objectives are delivered
  • stay abreast with industry news and trends (attend networking events etc.)
  • organise for the directors to attend industry events
  • explore opportunities for the directors to speak and contribute to key industry events
  • maintain events calendar, ticket management, delegates, exhibition material etc.
  • produce and organise marketing material (brochures, business cards, promotional material etc.)
  • research who is working with who within the industry in order to identify potential clients
  • maintain a pipeline of prospective clients and leads, be responsible for organising meetings and prompting business development actions

Bid coordination:

  • review and monitor all new tender opportunities as they become available via public notification, framework call-offs and tender portals
  • provide tender summaries to directors for consideration
  • organise and manage bid teams
  • work alongside directors and associates to prepare responses for technical submissions
  • prepare bid submission documents and be responsible for their timely execution and submission
  • maintain up to date CVs, project and practice information for marketing purposes

Website and social media management:

  • update and maintain the website
  • coordinate content for social platforms (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.)
  • monitor audience and response analytics and report back on content reach and success
  • create a strong online presence (communicate, regular updates, engage audience)
  • maintain and execute online content plan in line with business plan (attractive employer, target sectors etc)

PR and communications:

  • key point of contact for any external PR agencies
  • organise end of project site tours and agree press and communication strategies with clients
  • organise project photography (shot lists, access arrangements, copyright licences etc.)
  • prepare and submit award submissions
  • maintain up to date records and produce/collate PR information for completed projects
  • develop and maintain an industry contact list

Skills:

  • high proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft O365
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • exemplary time management and organisational skills
