As our innovation and sustainability intern, you would get to:
- be a part of developing projects that address emerging environmental and architectural concerns such as climate-change resilience, the changing nature of work, circular-economy, human health, and resource conservation
- work together with skilled, experienced architects, industrial designers and manufacturers
- expand your skills and discover new ways of working in the fields as design for manufacture, computational design, prototyping, renders, sustainability metrics, life-cycle analysis etc
- participate in an exciting learning program where our studios’ experts and leaders will introduce you to the most important areas within design and building technology
- the opportunity to develop relationships directly with clients and manufacturers
- get a SHL mentor throughout your internship, who supports you in your development, gives you feedback and where you together prepare realistic learning goals for you to accomplish within the project’s framework
- an opportunity to get hands-on experience with relevant processes and practices inside and outside the studio
- be teamed up with an experienced colleague, who will mentor you and give you feedback on your work
- a strong foundation for your education and a future career in the architecture and design industry

- financial support throughout the internship in accordance with Danish law
What we look for:
- a student currently studying architecture, communication, engineering or design – this internship is only for students still enrolled in school, or students on an Erasmus programme
- someone with a keen interest in coordinating research and strategy behind cutting edge sustainability efforts
- a candidate with a proficiency to write articles for English speaking audiences
- someone who is interested in setting up a sustainability knowledge platform to be used across the company
- experience with collecting and synthesising data from many sources and presenting key findings is beneficial
- an ability to use a system thinking approach to solving problems is also advantageous
- someone who is capable of learning quickly, able to think creatively and critically, dedicated, eager to learn and ready to take on some exciting challenges
How we work
At Schmidt Hammer Lassen we take pride in our vibrant work environment. In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, we organise social and educational events — especially for our intern group. Here you will come into contact with a creative work environment with expertise from a diverse range of backgrounds. Across the company we have social initiatives, including morning learning sessions, a winter bathing club, Friday bars, and much more.
Practical information
We expect the internship to be full-time from 16th of August 2021 to 31st of January 2022 with the possibility of flexible working hours scheduled around your study activities.
