Position summary

Oxman is seeking a horticultural designer to join our growing team in New York. In this role, you will lead and collaborate on high-profile projects, including the development of our new facilities, indoor and outdoor installations, and scientific research. The successful candidate is a passionate, hands-on experimentalist who lives and breathes plants. Landscape architects, horticulturalists, and bonsai artists are strongly encouraged to apply.

Core responsibilities:

  • lead the design and production of a large, living indoor installation
  • collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of architects, biologists, computational designers, and engineers

Qualifications:

  • a portfolio demonstrating out-of-the-box thinking and excellent minimalist taste in design
  • expertise in a wide range of plant species and their ideal environmental conditions
  • knowledge of mosses, small plants, and/or bonsai techniques is a plus
  • strong design and communication skills
