Interior design/interior architect

Purple Design is seeking an interior designer/interior architect with two to three years’ experience to join its London studio.

Our studio

We are a small dynamic studio that prides itself on being easy to work with. We work on prestigious residential interiors.  Our attention to detail is fastidious and our interiors are finished to the highest quality.

We are looking to work with a diligent and creative interior designer/interior architect on a prestigious grade II listed residential project due for completion late summer 2022 along with other projects in the studio.  The ideal candidate will have an excellent portfolio, good specification and FF&E knowledge and experience in completing high end residential projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • assisting the design director with design concept proposals
  • competently producing accurate AutoCAD plans, elevations, bathroom and kitchen, and joinery details
  • competently producing rendered drawings for presentation
  • competently producing digital design presentations using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
  • assisting with the development of material palettes
  • competently producing and coordinating schedules for FF&E and various interior schedules
  • managing the purchase and manufacture of detailed bespoke furniture and lighting pieces
  • ensuring all FF&E related deliveries are on site when scheduled
  • assist with the installation of FF&E and dressing on completion
  • liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors
  • establishing new and maintaining existing relationships with manufacturers and suppliers

Your key skills and experience:

  • degree or equivalent recognised qualification in interior architecture or interior design
  • minimum of two years’ experience as an interior architect/designer preferably at a high-end UK studio
  • knowledge and understanding of UK high end residential sector suppliers and manufacturers
  • experience in sourcing, scheduling, procuring, and managing FF&E package to installation
  • excellent presentation and communication skills
  • comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • must be able to manage time efficiently and work to tight deadlines
  • reliable, honest, organised, detail driven with a high level of initiative
  • focused with ability to work independently
  • generally, a friendly and positive person who is easy to work with
  • fluent in English (written and spoken) with strong communication skills

  • AutoCAD (essential)
  • SketchUp (essential)
  • 3D modelling and rendering
  • InDesign
  • Photoshop
  • Office 365
  • hand sketching
