Mid-weight interior designer

Lonika Chande is seeking an interior designer to join its team in London.
We are looking for a talented, experienced, and friendly mid-weight interior designer to join our team to lead on high-quality residential projects. The role requires you to have at least four years’ well-rounded experience, strong technical drawings skills, and to be confident enough to lead on some mid-sized projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented designer to join the business and to progress as the business grows.
The ideal candidate will be extremely organised, passionate about interior design, and have a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- working creatively across all design stages from conceptual design through to technical detailing and approval of supplier shop drawings
- preparing concept presentations, mood boards, preliminary and final design presentations using a variety of media
- producing technical drawings and tender packages in Vectorworks
- developing detailed designs including the selection of all materials and finishes
- sourcing furniture, antiques and art
- design of bespoke furniture including cased pieces, and upholstery
- managing the selection, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement of FF&E
- ability to perform many tasks across the design process from concept development through to design management, procurement, and overseeing on-site installations
- building and growing existing client and supplier relationships
- liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and the on-site team
- actively seeking and sharing inspiration and references from a wide range of sources outside of the business, to support creative design solutions
Required skills:
- excellent design skills and ability to convey design ideas
- good spatial planning
- a meticulous eye for detail and a good understanding of the technical side of interior design
- self-motivated with the ability to work quickly and efficiently in an organised manner
- excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- client facing experience
- on site project management experience
- proficiency in Vectorworks, EstiMac and Adobe Creative Suite is a must
- good supplier knowledge within the luxury residential industry
- hand-sketching skills are a bonus
Required experience
A minimum of four years’ experience in the role of an interior designer, with extensive creative competence working on luxury high-end residential projects.
