Atkins are looking to appoint a senior project architect/design team lead into our London studio. The opportunity would suit an individual looking to work in a creative and collaborative environment where they will be given the opportunity to lead on a variety of projects, within the region and nationally.

The nature of our working practices as a national practice means that although this role is based in London, we would be happy to speak with senior/project architects looking to be based in other UK locations – including Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Warrington.

Responsibilities:
- to lead, manage and inspire a team by demonstrating the highest design standards and skills
- developing and sustaining relationships with existing and new clients
- to ensure design responses are of the highest standard and exceed the client expectations
- to design and deliver projects that are imbued with a strong narrative and that enhance our reputation
- provide design and technical leadership for major projects.
- reporting on activity and analysis of feedback and success factors.
- development of the design culture and capability of our multi-disciplinary design team(s)
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic new senior team member to work with our existing team to:
- be focussed on design excellence, delivering inspiring solutions
- have a portfolio of work demonstrating design flair and capability
- produce inspiring design focussed solutions
- demonstrate skill in communicating design ideas and concepts, including sketching, graphic illustration and 3D digital modelling
- able to lead design and technical reviews in the studio and inspire the team
- be creative in their approach
- have the ability to lead bids and opportunities across our markets
- be engaged with the successful delivery of secured projects

Rewards and benefits
We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
