Strom Architects is hiring a senior associate architect to join its team in Hampshire, UK.
Strom Architects designs and delivers distinctive contemporary one-off houses in the UK, with an increasing number of international projects.
Our practice is growing, and to meet the increasing demand for high-end houses, we seek to recruit a Senior Associate to oversee the delivery of projects on time, budget and to the highest quality.
The key areas of the role are
Oversee the delivery of projects:
- establish project plan
- project set up
- project planning
- support the project architect in running of the project
- support the project architect in delivery of the project (drawings, specification etc. depending on project to project)
- actively monitor projects to ensure they run on time and budget with deadlines met
- identify project risk and propose elimination and mitigation
- prepare fortnightly progress reports for the Management Team.
- QA for projects
Contribute to business development:
- work with the senior team to implement the business development plan and office systems in the running of projects
- actively seek to improve and streamline office procedures
- maintain existing and develop new client relationships and networks.
Act as senior client contact
- assist the project architect in client liaison
- be the senior client liaison in key decisions
Staff management
- coach and mentor project architects and architectural assistants
Qualities and skills required:
- minimum of ten years’ post-Part 3 experience
- excellent prioritisation, time management and organisational skills
- documented job running experience
- excellent written and spoken English
- experience with UK construction industry and JCT contracts
- a generic business understanding
- relevant IT Skills, such as VectorWorks, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, MS Suite, project management software such as Merlin and Monday.com
Salary commensurate with experience, within salary band £50,000 – £60,000. A relocation bonus is available for the right candidate.
