Archivist
at OBR

OBR is looking for an archivist for a three-month full-time internship to join its team in Milan.

The ideal candidate should have an excellent understanding of the design approach of OBR, contributing to the architectural research of the firm with a proactive and passionate attitude to archiving and editing image, texts and editorial contents. The successful candidate will be extremely organised and motivated, very proficient in English, with a solid background in archiving (publications, interviews, social media, lectures, conferences, exhibitions, videos etc.).

They will play a vital role in creating, curating and disseminating the design activity, history and cultural heritage of OBR.

At the completion of the internship, OBR will evaluate the possible professional placement in the company with long-term career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • research and digitising archival materials such as oral, hand-drawn, texts, interviews, article, videos, etc.
  • organise with logic and intuitive criteria the library of OBR, including books and thematic catalogues
  • organise, preserve and maintain the OBR archival collection, including ongoing projects
  • assist in the development of policies and procedures for the archival collection
  • assist in the creation and planning of archival exhibits
  • pitch ideas in weekly meetings with the partners and the administrative team
  • develop the strategy and progress of archiving work
  • collaborate in the investigation of appropriate design references for new projects
  • support the curators of exhibitions for OBR

The selected candidate will initially be involved in OBR through a six month internship with monthly remuneration, after which training path and long-term career opportunities will be evaluated.

In response to Covid 19, our team is currently primarily working from home, in accordance with Italian government instructions. Occasionally, while following anti-Covid regulations, some members of the team may be required to attend meetings with the partners, the design team, the clients, or for on-site visits. The team will return to in the office location in Milan once restrictions are lifted and OBR determines it is safe to do so.
