WATG is seeking an FF&E specifier/designer to join its London office.

The London location of WATG | Wimberly Interiors is hiring an FF&E specifier/designer.
Summary of position
The FF&E specifier/designer, located in London, provides essential design and/or technical support for the interior design team and works closely with senior staff to shadow and develop design and deliverables for various projects. The FF&E specifier/designer position prepares, updates and corrects drawings, presentations, graphics, design, CAD design/drafting, furniture, fixture and accessory specifications, furnishing, color and material boards, model making, FF&A sourcing, resource organization and general computer skills.
Major responsibilities:
- create concept presentations and verbal presentations, as necessary
- create furnishing, color and material boards, physical finish samples and photographic prints
- assist the studio with product resource organization
- assist the studio with sourcing and product research
- ability to create rendered plans/section elevations
- ability to create freehand sketches
- translating design concepts into FF&E and casegood assemblies through the creation of construction documents using AutoCAD
- using interior design concepts including space planning, furniture, fixtures, and product research to create and refine the overall conceptual design for a project
- applying technical regulations and related code compliance, including ADA requirements
- proven experience with material codes and fire rating requirements, in line with operator standards and regulatory requirements
- experience with furniture, fixtures and accessories specifications
- ability to professionally coordinate with outside vendors
- train and mentor junior level staff in the studio
- maintain and update the drawing files
- assist with GC finishes, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, millwork details – specifications and organizing
- assist the department with the preparation of graphics and 3D renderings
- maintain and organize the design library
- assist the office with general clerical support
Job requirements
This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgment in order to organise and prioritise tasks, workload and projects. Professionalism, courtesy, and tact are required in dealing with clients and colleagues.
Other requirements include:
- university degree in interior design or interior architecture and six to ten years’ related experience in designing small to mid-size interior projects including urban and resort hotels is preferred
- a proficient level of experience in the use of AutoCad, Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word and Excel
- a proficient level of experience using Sketch-up, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop to design hand sketch case work and vignette scenes, hand color, and render interior drawings, area take-offs and shop drawings.
- high level of experience in graphic design concepts such as, hand sketch case work, vignette scenes, hand coloring, rendering interior drawings, area take offs and shop drawings
- the ability to assemble FF&E and finish boards with no supervision
- a proficient level of experience in interior design concepts such as, space planning, furniture, fixtures, hardware, sanitaryware schedules and product research
- must have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable in interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors and internal staff
