Newly qualified architect/experienced Part 2
at Studio Varey Architects

Studio Varey Architects is looking for a newly qualified architect/experienced Part 2 to join its team in London.

We are a young practice specialising in residential projects across London and the south east, based in Bermondsey.

At Studio Varey, we strive to create homes designed for modern living, with a focus on clean, functional design that captures the natural beauty and craftsmanship of the materials we use. We are a fully charted practice, carrying the RIBA seal on all of our jobs; Studio Varey Architects are independently registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB). We are proud to adhere to the principals and regulations that govern our industry, to ensure that as a practice, we are putting our clients and their projects first.

As a business, we believe in offering our employees a better work/life balance; with an emphasis on ensuring they have the time and the energy to spend with family and friends, and doing the things they enjoy. To facilitate this we operate a four-day work week every other week. On these weeks you will not be required to work Fridays. There will be no increase in hours worked the remaining four days of the week, and no reduction in salary.

The role will involving working on multiple projects at all RIBA stages, assisting practice principle Nick Varey. There will also be the opportunity to run some jobs as project lead.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for the role:

  • Part 1 and Part 2 (or equivalent) qualifications
  • Part 3 (if applying as a qualified architect)
  • minimum two years’ post-Part 2 experience (UK-based)
  • London private residential projects
  • Vectorworks (BIM preferred)
  • an eye for detail and design; technical understanding of buildings
  • highly focused and productive individual, with an ability to self manage
  • client and contractor on-site management
  • highly proficient in English (both written and spoken) and eligible to work within the UK – unfortunately we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time

Start date is flexible.

We operate a hybrid approach to where we work, offering flexible options for working from home and in a shared workspace. The selected candidate will be required to visit job sites in Greater London on a regular basis, and will therefore need to be London based.
