Design Academy Eindhoven is seeking an events producer to join its communications, presentations and public relations department in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

The role
The events producer is the lead for official DAE events, overseeing their planning and execution and also implementing improvements for future events. In this role, you will be in charge of the coordination and execution of our lecture series programme and the opening of the annual DAE graduation show during Dutch Design Week. You will also take the lead on producing internal events, including DAE’s graduation ceremonies, open days, the opening of academic year, etc. You will design and plan each event, working closely with members of staff from different departments as well as students, graduates, heads and tutors, and will deliver post-event analysis, identifying areas for improvement and development and implementing changes accordingly. This job is all about teamwork!
Tasks and responsibilities:
- event planning and organisation: you will take the lead in creating the format, budget, planning and organising our internal events based on a project plan. You will guard the budget and oversee the collaboration between the DAE colleagues who will contribute to the event’s execution and delivery (Service Desk, Educational Desk, ZBar, etc.)
- project execution: you will manage the event team, including project staff and suppliers, and monitor quality and progress. You will offer solutions in case of problems and consult with the head of CPPR. During project implementation, you will monitor the costs and quality. You will keep track of the result and deliver the final product. In addition, you will take care of periodic reports and the final report for events
- project evaluation: you evaluate the result of the project and propose improvements, which you will coordinate
- development: you identify bottlenecks and advise on structural improvement
Working hours may vary in some periods, depending on the planned events.
What you will bring to the team

To be successful in this job, you will also need to have:
- HBO education e.g. communications or event management
- three to five years of proven relevant experience
- practical knowledge in the field of (art) education
- knowledge of communication tools and programs
- skills like coordinating, planning and organising
- skills in project management
- excellent command of the English language (oral and written), good knowledge of Dutch is preferred
Our offer
We offer a challenging position in an international and dynamic working environment. This is a part-time position, with 24 hours per week. Salary indication is equivalent to a range of between €2.598,89 – €3.479,70 a month for full-time employment (scale 8). The employment terms are in accordance with the collective labour agreement CAO-HBO, including a holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3%. We offer you a temporary contract for the duration of one year with the possibility of an extension.
About the department
The communications, presentations and public relations department is a fundamental part of Design Academy Eindhoven, overseeing internal and external communications as well as private and public-facing events and major projects.
As our producer, you will be working in an energetic and professional communications, presentations and public relations team. The department consists of a creative publisher, a webmaster, internal community coordinator, editorial team, lecture series team, graduation coordinator and graduation show team and a support team of freelancers on branding and website, editorial content, art direction, alumni and social media. The teams are led by the head of communications, presentations and public relations.
We provide access to information for students and staff, stimulate dialogue on content and we organise meetings such as the lecture series. At the same time, we seek the connection with the outside world to increase the opportunities and visibility of projects and research. The results are put in the international spotlight through publications and events, such as the DAE graduation show (highlight DDW), exhibitions in the Van Abbemuseum and presentations at the Salone Di Mobile in Milan.
We are always exploring new opportunities, platforms and avenues for editorial content. Our experiences during the COVID period lead to a new hybrid strategy for both public-facing and internal events post-pandemic and has already proven useful in translating the school’s open days and Lecture Series into an online environment in 2021. *Include The Stage?!
The department is also pivotal in navigating DAE through the sensitive and constantly evolving questions around inclusivity and culture within academic institutions, supporting both students and the Executive Board. We play a core role in long-term changes within the school by producing debates, roundtables and student presentations.
The communications, presentations and public relations department should be an exemplar of openness, engagement and transparency breaking down communications silos within the school and setting a standard for communications in institutions across design education.
