Architect
We Made That is hiring an architect to join its team in London or Manchester, UK.
We are looking for an experienced architect with knowledge of progressive regeneration to join our growing team in our London or Manchester office. We Made That is delivering an increasing number of large masterplanning projects and influential spatial strategies with stages moving towards delivery and seek a candidate capable of leading projects and progressing within the practice. This new team member should be fluent at operating at a senior level and have a desire to work alongside the practice partners and senior management team. You will be driven by wanting to help create equitable places through impactful projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for devising – and implementing – strategy and delivery projects at a range of scales across the UK. In doing so the ideal candidate will be responsible for leading small project teams and supporting the practice’s approach and values.
Experience
Candidates applying should:
- be three plus years’ post-Part 3 or have a masters qualification in urban design or similar related subject
- have demonstrable mixed-use delivery, strategic or master planning experience in the UK for public bodies
- have held roles independently leading on project development
- have experience of leading a team of assistants, overseeing project resourcing levels and time management
- be familiar with city regeneration contexts and best practice
- be seeking opportunity for career progression within the office from this level to a role pursuing, securing and shaping the outputs of the practice
- demonstrate keen appreciation of environmental and social performance impacts
- demonstrate a powerful public conscience in pursing project goals and practice aims
Skills
You must be a talented designer and have good technical knowledge with a great eye for presentation. You should have an ability to drive project design development, work directly with local authority clients and manage both internal and consultant teams. Excellent communication skills and a desire to contribute to lively, creative and productive team working required. Experience with Adobe CS are essential, Vectorworks and GIS software preferable.
Salary, benefits and eligibility
Salary negotiable dependant on experience (plus company benefits structure). Pay will be commensurate with experience and we would request that you set out your pay expectations in the covering letter.
