Furniture production/design coordinator
at David Gill Gallery

A vacancy for a furniture production/design coordinator is available at David Gill Gallery in London, UK.

David Gill Gallery is pleased to announce a new career possibility in their beautiful offices with its energetic team in St James’s London (SW1W). The role is for a furniture coordinator with theoretical and tested practical knowledge of furniture construction and production methods to join our design/production team.

Reporting to an experienced project manager on the team, the role will involve all the aspects of furniture production from the initial design phase through to the finished prototype and then ordering edition products.  As the works being made are classed as artworks by renowed architects, designers and artists: including Zaha Hadid, Fredrikson Stallard, and David Chipperfield, we are looking for someone with a special, atuned eye, and a very organised way of working.

As you will be assisting the project manager, you need to be able to take direction and notes with a high degree of detail, since every centimetre (even millimetre) makes a difference in what we do.

Salary will be based on proven ability and experience and we are looking for someone with three-six years experience. Only London based applicants please apply.

Do not hesitate to apply if you are currently a project manager at a different company as we are looking for top talent currently at this exciting stage in our growth.

Desired skills and experience:

  • excellent communication skills across departments
  • excellent administration and organisation skills
  • interpreting sketches and drawings
  • producing technical drawings and documents specifying the manufacture of furniture pieces
  • testing product concepts using sketches, full-scale models, hard prototypes and computer-aided design (CAD)
  • planning work schedules: checking and coordinating timescales, resources, and production information for promotion and marketing
  • organising international and domestic transport and delivery of furniture and sculpture
  • preparing care instructions
  • proven ability to meet deadlines
  • fluency in English is a must (Other languages that can benefit your application: French, Italian)
