Aria Group Architects is hiring a project coordinator to join its team in Illinois, USA.
The project coordinator at Aria Group is a vital part of the project team. They interpret the design intent and lead the assembly and coordination of the drawing set internally in addition to consultants and contractors. This integral position ensures that drawings are completed efficiently and accurately while complying with ADA, life safety and building codes.
As the team hub, the project coordinator maintains a close working relationship with the senior designer (SD) as well as the project manager (PM) and project designer (PD) to perform and manage essential elements for each project on their studio team.
Additional responsibilities for this role include:
- creates and organizes full drawing sets based on the provided design intent
- maintains a drive to continue learning and demonstrates a willingness to increase knowledge of building technology, life safety, ADA code compliance, and construction and design trends
- interprets and understands mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural and civil drawings and coordinates the content with the project team and client
- proactively communicates with project team and studio leadership to keep them abreast of project progress, innovative ideas and potential challenges and thinks quickly to develop ideas and solutions to resolve issues
- assists the PM to monitor construction drawings and establish schedules and staffing needs to meet deadlines
- communicates with authorities having jurisdiction in order to generate code analysis; review leases, work letters, contracts, site investigation reports, and design guidelines and disseminates necessary information to the project team
- assists PM with contract administration, including site visits, submittal review and RFI responses
- oversees and mentors architectural and interior designers and provides guidance on improving their skills
Qualifications:
- bachelor’s/master’s degree in architecture from an accredited school
- minimum of six years’ of architectural design practice experience – specifically within the restaurant hospitality sector
- additional hospitality experience a plus in the following sectors: hotels, entertainment/sporting venues, multi-use, office/retail and planning
Technical skills:
- Revit and AutoCAD experience required
- proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office is preferred; Illustrator is a plus
- SketchUp and 3D Modeling software experience a plus
