Studio and customer relationship manager

Sonya Winner Rug Studio is hiring a studio and customer relationship manager to join its team in London.

Sonya Winner Rug Studio is a small niche award-winning luxury design studio creating graphic, vibrant and highly original contemporary rugs that transform a space with their positive happy colours and bold designs. The business has grown quickly in the last year, so it is an exciting time to join our small, dynamic, fun and creative team. We pride ourselves in developing close relationships with our customers resulting with more than 35% repeat purchases. We sell online (90% of sales) and in our beautiful designer showroom to end customers and interior designers. Our main focus is selling online to end user driven by organic search, social media activity, press features and online advertising.

Work environment

Our airy and spacious light-filled studio/showroom is located in a quiet friendly village backwater close to Hampstead Heath, independent shops and cafes, the tube and overground. Our ergonomic design studio at the back of the showroom has a fully equipped kitchen, a shower for running or cycling to work and two laidback, loving hypoallergenic studio dogs!

Key responsibilities:

  • monitoring and responding to new enquiries from all channels
  • managing our bespoke CRM daily, responding to/ following up enquiries
  • creating quotes for trade clients and end customers for bespoke pieces
  • taking payment for showroom sales or over the phone
  • creating bespoke custom orders for end clients to pay online
  • post-purchase email follow up
  • welcoming and assisting studio visitors
  • maintaining segmented customer databases
  • ensuring the studio runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis
  • organising showroom events.
  • responding and providing content to the to the press
  • generating ideas for a bi-monthly blog post written by a freelancer
  • utilising Google tools for website SEO optimisation
  • putting together our bi-monthly newsletters with studio designer and founder
  • identifying influencers and artists we could collaborate with
  • contributing to marketing campaigns for product launches
  • producing editorial content and press releases and commissioning content
  • managing internal staff – tracking holidays and sick days
  • managing the studio assistant to ensure tasks are done accurately and on time
  • managing freelancers on large deliveries unpacking and placing into stock
  • identifying potential new business opportunities and capitalising on these
  • identifying smarter ways of working and implementing these

Skills required:

  • at least three years experience working in a similar role
  • fluent English, strong writing and communication skills
  • knowledge of design, art and luxury markets
  • enjoying engaging with customers
  • ideally degree/masters in art history or design-related studies
  • a passion for art and design
  • extremely well organised and good attention to detail
  • basic financial literacy
  • reliable and punctual, with excellent planning and organisational skills
  • experienced with Apple Mac, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Google sheets – knowledge of Adobe Suite is an advantage
  • good IT skills
