There is an opportunity for an exhibition architect at facts and fiction in Cologne, Germany.

We are looking for an experienced architect for our Cologne office to work on national and international museum, world exhibition and showroom projects.

facts and fiction is one of the leading creative agencies for communication and spatial design. The agency’s range of services includes the conception, design and realization of exhibitions, museums, expo pavilions, worlds of experience and showrooms, as well as the conception, staging and implementation of events, conferences and congresses of all kinds.facts and fiction has offices in Cologne (since 1992) and Berlin (since 2009).

The task

As an exhibition architect you will design complete exhibition spaces together with an interdisciplinary team. As a team you are responsible for the scenography of the exhibition space as well as the individual exhibits, furniture, showcases, etc.. You express yourself in words, with the pen and in a relevant 3D program. You understand designing as a collaborative creative and inventive process that combines design and narrative to create immersive, experiential, and tactile spaces.

You act independently, never losing sight of the goal and leading internal and external colleagues as needed. You have experience with all phases of a project, but feel especially at home in the performance phases 1 – 3 (HOAS).

You are interested in cultural and social topics, but can also think your way into brands and companies. You are not afraid of large international projects, but you can also develop big pictures on small budgets.

What you bring with you:

  • completed studies in architecture or interior design with a degree
  • membership in the Architects’ Chamber
  • proven experience with exhibition space design (scenographies, exhibits, furniture, display cases, etc.)
  • experience with german HOAI, HOAS and tendering processes
  • mastery of the relevant 3D softwares
  • conversational skills in German (at least C2) and English (at least C1)
