Architectural technologist
at Megan's Restaurant
Megan’s Restaurant is hiring an architectural technologist to join its team in London.
Do you want to join a growing restaurant business that is opening thirty sites in the next two years?
Reporting to our lead architect you will work in our close-knit property team to execute high quality drawing production, taking responsibility for technical detailing, whilst also developing drawing templates and systems to increase roll out speed of our new neighbourhood locations. You must have previous experience within hospitality (specifically restaurants). We are currently going through an exciting period of growth; you therefore must be able to work to strict timeframes and be able to manage multiple projects at one time.
The day to day
- drawing production
- take ownership of all Megan’s drawing production
- effectively manage multiple projects concurrently to produce full drawing documentation (including technical detailing) throughout the RIBA work-stages, to strict deadlines
- create systems and templates to improve efficiency of drawing production, including but not limited to building a library of elements and blocks
- maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of current M&E technologies to combine and co-ordinate these services within the main drawing package
- apply and maintain knowledge of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details and construction techniques
- enrich design concepts through technical strategies
- conduct initial site surveys under the instruction of the lead architect
Technical skills
- advanced AutoCAD skills

- good technical and detailing skills with the ability to visualise 2D and 3D

Experience and qualities criteria:
- three years’ of UK work experience as technologist or technician
- keen attention to detail knowledge of UK planning procedures, Building regs, health and safety and construction methods
- in depth knowledge of materials, techniques and innovations relate to architecture and design
- ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English
- excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects at a time, both independently and as part of a team.
- proactive in identifying issues or problems
- available to travel within the UK
