Essential responsibilities
The senior associate role possesses five key responsibilities:
- manage design options
- create work plan
- ensure design intent and documentation quality on all deliverables from concept through construction administration, with a focus on documentation
- coordinate client and consultant communication
- lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of designers and associates

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- eight to 15 years’ of experience in high-end residential, commercial, and interiors projects at all phases of the project life cycle
- bachelor’s/master’s degree in architecture
- licensed architect preferred, but not required
- deep expertise in construction documentation
- working knowledge of ArchiCAD, or a committed interest to learn and master it
- the ability to visually communicate design through drawings, diagrams, and details with expertise and precision
- experience leading teams
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- strong leadership and self-motivation
- excellent delegation skills
- highly skilled technically
- high level of intrinsic design competence
- experience with assembling highly complex drawings sets
- good awareness of design, industry trends, materials, and the aptitude to translate these ideas
- punctual and organized
- knowledge of California Residential Building Codes
