Part 2 architect/3D designer
at V&A
Victoria and Albert Museum is hiring a Part 2 architect/3D designer to join its team in London.
We are looking for a Part 2 qualified architect with concept and fabrication/construction experience to become part of our team. You will closely collaborate with lead architects on larger projects and will also have some small projects of your own to run.
In this role you will develop designs from concept through to completion, producing diagrams, sketches, 3D CAD and physical models, visuals, design presentations, drawing package submissions, specifications and schedules. As a small studio, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects from concept and pitches, to construction on site, internal design reviews and improving studio systems and standards.
You will:
- have a minimum of two years’ practice experience
- bring exceptional conceptual thinking, curiosity and an abundance of design ideas
- have strong modelling and technical drawing skills and an appreciation for the detail required to realise world-class projects
- be self-organised and able to work both independently and within a small team
- be comfortable taking on responsibility with a proactive approach
- be a keen collaborator with great interpersonal skills
- have an enthusiasm for making and a good understanding of construction methods and detailing
- be expert in Vectorworks (2D essential, 3D beneficial), fluent in in Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and MS Office
- be able to liaise with the consultant design teams to progress design development
