Sarah Wigglesworth Architects is hiring an architect to join its team in London.
Contract type: permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 to 6 (with flexi hour principals)
Salary: we have a transparent salary banding system based on role and experience. For architects with one to three years’ post-Part 3, this ranges between £32k to 39k.
Location: primarily office-based, with some remote working if desired. We operate a hybrid working operation and are happy to discuss details with suitable candidates.

Sarah Wigglesworth Architects (SWA) is a small, well established and highly reputable practice, located in north London. We are based in an award winning, ecological office, designed by Sarah Wigglesworth, our founding director, and as an environmentally focused practice, sustainability is at the heart of what we do.

About the job
We are looking for talented architects, who have completed their Part 3 to join our small friendly team. You are expected to have good RIBA stage 4 experience and demonstrate an understanding of technical design. Alongside working with the director, associate, and wider team you will be expected to provide architectural support and leadership for a variety of projects across all different work stages.
Qualities, experience and knowledge:
- ARB registered (with preferably one to three years’ experience post-Part 3)
- experience at all RIBA work stages, particularly RIBA stage 4-5
- have good technical knowledge and experience
- experience and competent at liaising with design team and client
- experience managing, producing, and issuing all project documentation including detailed drawings, reports, specifications, meeting minutes, applications, and contracts
- competent at liaising with statutory authorities as required at different project stages and ensuring compliance with all statutory legislation
- proficient in using Vectorworks, Sketchup, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- a good communicator, with excellent written and spoken English
- exceptional time management with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- strong attention to detail and visual awareness
- the ability and confidence to work under minimum supervision as well as being a good team worker, with the ability to communicate effectively and
- the ability to think ahead, anticipating problems and opportunities and find solutions
- knowledge, experience, and interest in sustainable building practices
- eligibility to work in the UK
