Architectural interior designer role summary:

  • as part of the design team, you will take design direction from the senior team and be an inspirational and encouraging leader to the junior team. You will work collaboratively within teams and take ownership of aspects of projects and where required lead smaller projects. Your skills, abilities and competencies will include an understanding of the design process and ability to deliver the technical aspects of design. You will be highly creative with the ability to produce concepts, presentations and present with confidence with a flexibility and openness of approach and willingness to work as a team player
  • your in-depth technical competency for project demands will offer an ability to provide creative solutions whilst ensuring technical requirements are met
  • ability to produce Auto CAD drawings to effectively communicate your designs to the project team, both internally and externally, clients and suppliers alike will be required

Be confident in the delivery of all RIBA Stages 4 drawing packages for interior schemes under the supervision of an associate or senior level architectural interior designer, including but not limited to the following:

  • concept stage space planning
  • produce schematic CAD and rendered plans and elevations for client presentations
  • develop RCPs, floor finishes, wall finishes, small power, decorative and architectural lighting plans
  • produce detailed joinery drawing package for tender issue
  • produce detailed architectural drawing packages for tender issue (including for example: skirting, doors, flooring and ceiling details)
  • have an excellent attention to detail and understanding of interior detailing and bespoke joinery
  • communicate clearly and effectively to the wider project teams, both internally and externally
  • be experienced and confident in creating specification schedules, including but not limited to the following: cornice and skirting types, door and ironmongery schedules, sanitaryware, electrical hardware, appliances, doors and finishes schedules
  • ability to produce all aspect of the design documents in coordination with external consultants
  • ensure effective communication between the team and external consultants
  • ability to use multiple media to illustrate design ideas including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Indesign and Power Point as a minimum
