Mid-weight hospitality interior designer
at SMC Design
SMC Design is hiring a mid-weight hospitality interior designer to join its team in London.
Education – educated to degree or diploma level with four to six years’ postgrad experience
Outline – as a middleweight interior designer you would have successfully worked as part of a team from inception to completion for a period of four to six years’, demonstrating your proven skills at delivering exceptional design with little guidance
Skills:
- ability to create and develop conceptual designs including the skill of using colour and texture
- skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Vetorworks, SketchUp, Photoshop and MS Office
- knowledge of FF&E selection (materials, finishes, detailing and scheduling)
- experience in using CAD software fluently
- some knowledge of Studio software would be advantageous
- self-confident and receptive to constructive feedback
- ability to manage time and work flow of projects efficiently
- excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
- exceptional attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- working a project as a part of team, keeping in mind time and budget
- carrying out assigned work once briefed on a project
- assisting designers or interns
- being a representative for the company at client meetings
- skilled at visualising concepts and explaining them to senior designers/directors
- developing detailed designs and choosing materials
- produce concept design work and technical packages in CAD
- assist senior designers where necessary at client meetings or on site
