Senior BIM technician

Jo Cowen Architects is seeking a senior BIM technician to join its team in London.
Jo Cowen Architects is an award-winning architectural practice with an experienced team of architects, designers, masterplanners and placemakers based in Chelsea, London. We are looking for an experienced senior BIM technician who wants to be part of our busy and expanding team. We are seeking long term team members who want to grow within our studio.
Key tasks:
- provide ongoing training to project teams in the use of a wide range BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks etc.)
- provide ongoing support, troubleshooting and guidance for BIM workflows and standards
- contribute to BID stage discussion with early liaison for BIM requirements and potential issues that may arise
- attend project kick-off meetings to advise on BIM implementation
- contribute towards negotiations of BIM deliverables in contracts
- provide scope of services for BIM coordinator role to project architect
- author and maintain project BEP and collaborative documents to ensure effective communication between consultants
- prepare and assist in the accuracy of BIM models issued to consultants
- seek to identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows in correlation with all aspects of the practice
- review project files to look for improvements & potential future hazards
- assist in the development of project specific families
- develop and manage practice BIM library
- ensure any changes in practice or project standards are effectively
- communicated to the project teams and implemented
- provide assistance to clash detection processes
Skills:
- advanced proven knowledge of Autodesk Revit and other relevant BIM authoring packages
- experience in delivering projects to BIM standards with relevant QA processes
- experience with model federation and coordination
- knowledge of Dynamo is highly beneficial
Experience and competencies:
- must have at least five years of relevant experience with Revit and BIM concepts
- degree in architecture, architectural technology, or another relevant field
- experience of delivering projects to relevant BIM standards through all RIBA Stages (ISO19650, etc.)
- must be able to clearly articulate advanced concepts in a way that team members of all levels can understand
- experience with medium and large-scale projects, including work on masterplans and high-rise designs
- ability to train teams in relevant workflows and software packages both 1-on-1 and group workshops
- high level of organisation and ability to prioritise and balance workloads
Salary level will be dependent on experience of the applicant.
