Part 2 architectural assistant
at MCAPS GLOBAL

MCAPS GLOBAL is seeking a skilled full-time Part 2 architectural assistant to join its office in London, UK.

We are a growing architectural studio, based in Hornchurch (station on London underground District line). We work throughout London and around, on new build and refurbishment projects. We provide end-to-end service on most of our projects, starting from design and planning approvals to tender and contract administration.

The candidate must have good drawing skills and good knowledge of detailed working drawings. You must be enthusiastic to learn and would be expected to work on multiple projects as required.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • measured survey and drawings
  • preparing and amending architectural drawings at all project stages, including planning, tender and construction
  • compiling design presentations/planning documents/site reports
  • liaising with outside consultants, suppliers, contractors and client if required, including attending meetings in the office and on-site
  • working on multiple projects if required, within the timescales allocated and in line with expectations
  • experience of product procurement, planning and tendering processes will be considered advantageous
  • job role may include maintaining company social media across all platforms. An experience in this area will be beneficial, but not essential

Education, skills and experience:

  • RIBA Part 2 candidate and/or global equivalent degree with a minimum of two years’ post-Part 2. UK private residential work experience will be considered advantageous
  • must be highly proficient in 2D AutoCAD drafting and have a good knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Photoshop
  • SketchUp or other 3D software

Successful individuals will benefit from exposure to live construction projects/sites, project running and office running aspects, mentoring, performance reviews and a healthy work/life balance.

All candidates should be eligible to work in the UK and holding a full driver’s license will be considered advantageous.

This is a full-time position and we are interviewing for an immediate start.

Contract and salary to be discussed (dependent on experience).
