WWA is looking for a Part 1 or 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London or Oxford, UK.
WWA are seeking a Part 1 or Part 2 qualified architectural assistant to join our talented team at either our South West London office or our riverside Oxford-based office.
Who we are
WWA is a multi-disciplinary design consultancy born from the merger of two renowned practices: West Waddy, originally founded in 1885, and Archadia.
The practices already enjoyed outstanding reputations for the standard of their work in architecture, urban design, town planning and delivery of specialist housing.
In 2021 the two firms combined to create WWA (West Waddy Archadia), a Practice that aspires to be a leader in the built environment, creating outstanding people-centric places and caring for our heritage.
We have a range of exciting projects across a variety of sectors and are looking for an Architectural Assistant to help deliver these projects to a high standard.
The role
Key responsibilities will be as follows:
- assessing client/user needs and assisting with the development of clients/user briefs
- scheme design work involving preparation of planning drawings and assisting with the submission of planning/listed building consent applications
- assisting with detailed design work including the preparation and submission of building regulation drawing packages, assisting others in the preparation of working drawings and production information
- where appropriate assisting others with tender action, contract documents and contract administration including site inspections throughout the construction phase of projects under the supervision of qualified staff
- undertaking measured levels and photographic surveys
- assisting with the production of design and access statements to accompany planning applications
- 3D computer models/images
- maintain a programme of CPD in line with RIBA requirements
- maintain an up to date RIBA logbook of practical training experience for quarterly review and discussion with a nominated practice ‘mentor’ if pursuing Part 3 qualification
About you
The ideal candidate will have some experience of working with Revit, be ambitious and enthusiastic with a flair for design and a proactive approach to their work and, if successful, will have the opportunity to develop their skills, expertise and career within a friendly, expanding practice.
