Job overview
The job holder will be responsible for the design of client projects on a global level, across both retail and hospitality at a range of scales. A well-rounded mid weight/senior designer who is confident in managing multiple projects from concept to completion with plenty of experience in both concept generation and technical development – this must include 3D visualisation and design detail drawing. Experience within project management, strategy and brand communications would be highly advantageous but not essential.
The role is responsible for taking the client’s brief and working alongside the project and senior team in managing the expectations of the client to ensure that the brief is met successfully, that is to say, on time, on budget and to the required standard. It includes oversight over manufacturing suggestion and appropriate material selection, with a focus on sustainability.
The job holder may be required to undertake briefs in isolation or as part of a larger design team, including third-party specialist consultants, freelance designers, and more junior members of the team. For this role, proven experience in team leadership, coordination amongst a multi-discipline team and client facing communication skills are required.
Informal mentorship of more junior designers, alongside the head of design may also be required.
Experience:
- interior design experience retail and/or hospitality (five pus years)
- advanced technical skills (Adobe Creative, Vectorworks, Cinema4D and VRay, AutoCAD)
- client-facing and pitch experience
The role is partly based on our East London office, so being commutable distance and the legal right to work in the UK is essential.
