Charles Tashima Architecture is hiring a studio manager to join its team in London.

Charles Tashima Architecture is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic part-time studio manager with at least two years’ experience, having managed a creative design studio or similar.

We are a design led studio, working across private residential, commercial and educational sectors. We are at a very exciting and busy period in our practice – and envision the role of studio manager as central to this development. The candidate should have the confidence and ambition to contribute to the company, particularly in the communication of our brand and ethos.

In this role you would be responsible for the smooth operation of the studio, requiring a wide variety of roles and responsibilities. You will need to be a confident communicator, strategic thinker and an eye for detail. The role will require experience in finance, HR and marketing. While we have a bookkeeper managing the accounts and invoicing, experience in cash forecasting and account managing is important.

Candidates should have the following attributes/abilities:

  • team player and leadership skills
  • confident with a proactive and can-do attitude
  • independent and self-motivated with an ability to work as part of a team
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • organised with good time-management skills and capacity to multitask
  • strategic thinker and good problem solver
  • at least two years’ transferable experience in an architecture or design environment
  • literacy in MS Office Suite, MS Teams, Adobe Photoshop InDesign
  • ability to draft copy for press releases, articles and letters
  • knowledge of general HR policies and procedures
  • sense of humour and calmness

Responsibilities would include the managing of:

  • administrative support to the director
  • cash forecasting and accounts, including profitability
  • organisation of files and systems
  • PR, website, social media, marketing, contacts
  • HR including recruitment, contracts, annual reviews, annual leave
  • time efficiency, timesheets and resourcing allocations
  • various accounts, contracts, insurance
  • front of house, client facing

The role is currently part-time, three days per week (negotiable). We offer the opportunity for you to work flexible hours with the added benefit of working from both home and at work. We provide pension contributions and profit sharing.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
