Interior design assistant

Henri Fitzwilliam-Lay is seeking a part time interior design assistant to join its London team.
We are an interior design studio based in Notting Hill Gate. We work on a wide range of exciting high end residential projects in the UK, Europe and South America. The studio advises from concept through to completion, on all aspects of the design process producing unique and inspiring design schemes.
Henri Fitzwilliam-Lay is looking for a highly organised, conscientious professional who can remain calm under pressure. This is an excellent opportunity for a person who is well presented, easy to get along with, is eager to learn and is passionate about design. The position is suitable for a person who is ready to hit the ground running but ideally wishes to find a long-term position in our studio and grow along with us.
The candidate will be required to:
- answer the office phone and respond to emails
- manage and update the office calendar
- support the design team with administration tasks and running errands such as requesting and collecting samples from various suppliers around London
- chase suppliers for updates and administration follow up
- keep on top of office organisation and manage our sample library
- update costs plans (prior knowledge of Esti would be helpful but is not essential)
- amend sketchup drawings and update our sketchup library
Applicants should have experience in the following:
- proficiency on a Mac is crucial
- proficient in Microsoft Outlook
- some knowledge of SketchUp or similar CAD software
- some knowledge of EstiMac (preferred but not essential)
- excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
- exceptional attention to detail
- an excellent standard of both verbal and written English
- ability to work within a small team
- keeping to deadlines and managing their workload
