The role
David Kohn Architects is looking to appoint a German-speaking senior architect with at least five years experience post-RIBA Part-III or German equivalent, to lead a design team for a €15M housing scheme in Berlin recently won through a design competition. The successful candidate will also be trained to lead a multi-project team specialising in masterplanning and development, both residential and commercial.
The practice
David Kohn Architects was established in 2007 and has gained international recognition for the quality of its design. The practice has recently won significant residential, education and arts projects, and work ranges from collaboration with artists to public spaces, from historic building renovation to urban strategies. Over the next five years David Kohn Architects aims to grow organically, continuing to take on larger, more complex projects.
Key responsibilities:
- lead projects within the sector
- act as project architect
- oversee delivery of construction projects within the sector to budget and programme
- lead in-house team
- liaise with clients and design teams
- fully coordinate RIBA stages one through six
- oversee delivery of competitions within the sector within budget
Experience and knowledge:
- experience leading large, complex projects in Germany
- experience leading teams through German HOAI stages one to seven
- experience of coordination on large, complex projects
- experience of project financial management and budgeting
- good knowledge of procurement and construction
- strong technical expertise and knowledge of current construction methods
Technical Skills
- excellent design skills
- construction detailing
- excellent coordination and organisational skills
- software: Vectorworks (2D/ 3D), SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Rhino
- 3D Modelling
