Architecture Commons is hiring a design strategist to join its team in Hong Kong.
Architecture Commons is looking for a design strategist to join our dynamic and creative team. Our culture is open, flexible, inclusive and engaging. Working across the design and strategy team, you will be working via Neighbourhood Innovation Lab. We believe that close neighbourly relationships create the unique charm of each neighbourhood. Through various community innovation projects, we seek to understand how to foster an inclusive neighbourhood identity in dense Asian cities.
You will be:
- collaborating with designers, architects, and other neighbourhood stakeholders to envision and create new experiences and human-centered spaces
- contributing to the day-day execution and planning of public and private projects through collaboration with innovative partners
- storytelling and ability to prepare compelling presentations
- applying design thinking methodologies
- co-designing and facilitating workshops with the team
- data visualization: synthesizing and extracting insights from raw data collected during workshops
- outreach to various types of stakeholders
- willing to work over limited weekends based on project needs
Who are we looking for
Bachelor degree holders in any discipline and/or candidates preferably with one to two years’ of work experience in the areas of design innovation, social innovation, business design, creative placemaking who are based in Hong Kong. Preference would be given to candidates with a background in architecture design, urban design, design strategy, business strategy, and social innovation. Fresh graduates are also welcome.
Requirements:
- interest in human-centered design and passionate about neighbourhood and community topics
- able to manage coordination work across teams and projects in a fast-paced environment
- proficient in both spoken and written Chinese and English
- strong sense of responsibility and collaboration
- be prepared to perform ad-hoc duties
- team player with a can-do spirit
Preferable skills:
- experience in research, such as design thinking, design research, interviewing, survey design and data analysis
- knowledge in design softwares such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign is required
- proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, V-Ray, ArcGIS a plus
