Part 2 architectural assistant
at Periscope
Periscope is looking for a Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.
We are a spatial design agency focused on regenerative design and public architecture, delivering resilient projects that work for people and planet.
Following a series of competition wins together with existing commissions moving into delivery work stages, we’re looking for a talented, motivated and design-focused person to become part of our team.
Person specification:
- logical and systematic, valuing high standards and precision
- ability to undertake design development and data research to a high standard
- able to work to evidence based as well conceptual methodologies
- good time-management skills, able to prioritise tasks independently and with guidance from senior team members
- responsible, dependable and fast learner, thriving on cooperation and teamwork
- self-motivated and calm under pressure
Key activities:
- 3D modelling and visualisation at various scales including masterplan level
- illustrative and diagrammatic materials for supporting documents
- drafting 2D CAD drawings for planning applications
- case studies and policy based research with extensive analysis
Qualifications/experience:
- BSc / BA degree in Architectural Design with RIBA Part 1
- master’s degree in Architecture or equivalent degree / experience from country outside of the United Kingdom with RIBA Part 2 accreditation
- at least one year’ post Part 1 experience working in an architectural setting in the UK
Skills:
- AutoCAD, ability to accurately draw plans, sections and elevations to a high technical and presentation quality
- high standard and excellent working knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Rhino)
- strong visual communication skills to produce hand drawn and digital output to a high level of presentation
- high standard of Adobe suite products
- good standard of physical model making
- ability to think strategically, and to develop concepts into proposals
- ability to engage with new processes, software, teams and projects in a vigorous and thoughtful manner
